SEPTEMBER – the month of the Christian Vachon Foundation

September is the ideal time to inform the population and raise awareness of the mission and actions undertaken by the FCV. It is during the back-to-school season that our needs are the greatest and it is also at this time that our biggest fundraisers take place, namely the Relais du lac Memphrémagog and the Mois de la FCV .

Throughout the month of September, companies, business people, schools, parents and volunteers come together to promote the Foundation and thus allow, "Financially support perseverance and educational success by giving all young people in need an equal opportunity to have access to this success". Every year in May, the FCV selects the families who will receive support from all the partner schools in anticipation of the next school year. It is then possible for these families to complete an application for their children and return it to FCV via the school they attend. In this way, the FCV makes the selection of children who will be entitled to our assistance for the following primary needs : school materials, exercise books, clothing, credit for registering for activities and for certain lunches. At the beginning of the summer, the FCV directly contacts the families of the children who will be sponsored to inform them of the procedure to be followed to obtain the goods and services for which their child has been accepted. So that on day one of the start of the school year, the child is ready to start the school year on the right foot. We wish for these children perseverance and success in school and we allow them to be ready to take up this challenge by being on the same starting line as all the other children.
