A CHRISTMAS BALL FOR THE HAPPINESS OF A CHILD

7TH YEAR OF THE CAMPAIGN

The Christian Vachon Foundation and its partners invite you to participate in the campaign A Christmas ball for the happiness of a child. All you have to do is sponsor a child by buying him a gift for Christmas. This campaign will run from November 14 to December 10, 2016. We ask for your generosity : together, let's make a difference in the Christmas of a child in need.

Throughout the year, the Christian Vachon Foundation helps families who need it, among other things, because of their precarious financial situation. As the holiday season approaches, the Foundation is taking a special action and is looking for godmothers and godfathers who will anonymously offer a Christmas gift to the children of families supported by the Foundation. A different way to help these families and their children.

HOW TO SPONSOR A CHILD FOR CHRISTMAS?

Interested persons should come to one of the following four locations :

    • Giant Tiger , 1730 Sherbrooke Street, Magog
    • Group Desjardins du Lac Memphrémagog , 230 Principale Street West, Magog
    • IGA Extra Gazaille , 1526 Sherbrooke Street, Magog
    • Magog City Hall , 7 Main Street East, Magog
    • GGC Magog Library , 401 Principale Street West, Magog
    • Boutique Vivre à fond , 2389-B, rue Principale Ouest, Magog
    • Boutique Le Coureur , 1682 King Street West, Sherbrooke
    • GGC Sherbrooke Library, 1567 King Street West, Sherbrooke

On the site, the godmother or godfather chooses a homemade Christmas ball from the tree set up for the campaign and then goes to the reception desk of the establishment to receive a child's file. Note that no identifying information will be given; only a first name, an age and some gift suggestions.

The godfather or godmother must then bring back the gift of a minimum value of $25, nicely packaged, at the Memphremagog library located at 90, rue Saint-David in Magog, and this, before December 10 at noon or in Sherbrooke at the Boutique le Coureur and the GGC Library (Sherbrooke only) if you have sponsored a child there.

Parents will then be invited to pick up the gifts at the library. A team of volunteers will also be available for distribution as needed.

At a time as important as Christmas, the quality of the gestures to be made towards a child takes on all its importance, its meaning. A Christmas ball for the happiness of a child is a unique way to get involved, to change things, to become Santa Claus, present but invisible, to go a little further in the quality of one of your gestures.
